My name is Jaime Sanchez, and Nuevo isn’t just where I live - it’s home. I was raised here, attended school here, and today I’m proud to be raising my own family and running my business in the same community that helped shape me.

All six of my children have attended Nuview schools, and my wife has served our district as a school bus driver for more than 15 years. From serving on

the local MAC and helping with our annual free pumpkin giveaway to organizing community cleanups, giving back to Nuevo has become part of the framework of my life.

I served on the Nuview School Board from 2018 to 2022. During my time away from the board, I’ve stayed involved and listened closely to what families believe our district needs.
One thing has become clear: our children should not have to settle for less simply because we are a small district.

I’m not running for School Board because I want to be a politician. I’m a construction worker by trade and at heart. I believe in showing up, finding the problem, and doing the work it takes to fix it. Serving as your District 1 representative is just another way I can continue doing what I’ve always tried to do - make a difference for the people of Nuevo.

My name is Jaime Sanchez, and Nuevo isn’t just where I live - it’s home. I was raised here, attended school here, and today I’m proud to be raising my own family and running my business in the same community that helped shape me.

I have six children, all of whom have attended Nuview schools, with two still in the district and three proudly serving our country in the U.S. military. My wife, Brandi, has also served our district as a school bus driver for more than 15 years.

From serving on the local MAC council and helping with our annual

free pumpkin giveaway to organizing community cleanups, giving back to Nuevo has become part of the framework of my life.

As a contractor and business owner, I know that every dollar has a purpose, every project needs a plan, and someone must be accountable for the result - and I’ll bring that same fiscal responsibility to our School Board. I also know the importance of teamwork. That means every member of our district - from administrators and teachers to campus supervisors and attendance clerks - plays a vital role and deserves to be heard. I’m not running for School Board because I want to be a politician. I’m a construction worker by trade and at heart. I believe in showing up, finding the problem, and doing the work it takes to fix it. Rooted in nuevo

Long before I was a husband, a father, or a business owner, I was a kid growing up right here. I attended Nuview schools, played AYSO on our local fields, and years later returned to those same fields as a coach. Flip through an old yearbook and you’ll find me. My story is woven into the story of this small town.

As I got older, I made the choice to stay. I built my business here, raised my six children here, and sent each of them through the Nuview School District. My wife, Brandi, has spent more than 15 years behind the wheel of a Nuview school bus, safely carrying generations of children to and from these schools we love.

Why I'm Running

THE  PUMPKIN  GIVEAWAY

One event especially close to my heart is our Free Pumpkin Giveaway, which I have been honored to help put together for the past four years. Seeing kids smiling, families enjoying time together, and our community gather for something so simple and positive reminds me of my own childhood and why giving back matters.

CLASS OF 2020 YARD SIGNS

I was amongst the unique group of families who had graduating Seniors during COVID-19 in 2020. The photo shown from The Press-Enterprise is of me and my son standing with his "Senior Yard Sign" - a project of which I headed for our Nuevo Seniors.

SHOWING UP FOR NUEVO

I believe serving your community isn’t something you campaign on. It’s something you do.

For years, I’ve watched surrounding school districts secure funding and resources to improve their campuses while Nuview continues to fall behind. Some of the facilities our children use today are the same ones I used when I was a student here. Our kids deserve better than that.

Our schools should be places that make children feel safe and excited about their futures. They should be places parents are proud to send their children and teachers and staff are proud to work. Instead, we have spent too much time patching aging facilities and misusing funds rather than addressing the problems at their foundation.

I’ve spent my career in construction. I’ve also spent years in public service. Both require knowing how to build - it takes persistence, accountability, responsible spending, and someone willing to fight for the resources our community deserves.

Nuevo has been left out of the rooms where change happens for far too long. So whether that means standing at the doors of a construction site or taking our case all the way to Sacramento, I’m willing to show up, speak up, and fight until Nuevo gets the attention it deserves.

TAKING CARE OF HOME

Nuevo is our home, and I believe we should treat it that way. When trash is illegally dumped, I’ve always been willing to do whatever it takes to clean it up.

"Be the 'I' in KIND" Project

For more than three years, my wife, Brandi, and I brought the full Polar Express experience to Valley View Elementary students complete with hot cocoa, golden tickets, Santa Claus, and, of course, a bell. I believe childhood is made special by the traditions a community creates together - and sometimes, by a little bit of magic.

SERVING THROUGH THE LIONS CLUB

I have been a proud member of the Lions Club for over seven years. From participating in traditions like Nuevo’s 4th of July Parade to funding the

Brandi & Jaime Sanchez Nuview Lions Scholarship

for local students, the Lions Club has given me another meaningful way to give back to the community I call home.

THE POLAR EXPRESS
new quote_edited.png

After hearing too many stories about bullying throughout the Nuview School District, I decided to bring the “Be the ‘I’ in Kind” project to each of our Nuevo schools. The murals were created as a place where students could see, and be part of, a simple reminder that kindness starts with each of us. Years later, those murals are still standing in our schools today.
